On November 15, 2016, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office arrested Ronald D. Starliper, age 54, of La Belle, Missouri on a charge of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, a class C felony.  This arrest stems from an investigation by the Lewis County Sheriff's Office and the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

Mr. Starliper is currently lodged in the Lewis County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 cash only bond.
