On October 30, 2016, a La Belle resident contacted the Sheriff's Office to report her cat had been shot.  Upon investigation, the Sheriff's Office believes the animal was shot with a small caliber weapon.  The cat survived the gunshot but it's wounded leg had to be amputated.  It is believed the cat was shot during the morning of October 30.
