On January 26, 2024, members of the Lewis County Sheriff's Office arrested Joshua A. Campbell, age 30, of Lewistown, Missouri in relation to a child abuse investigation. 

Mr. Campbell has been formally charged by Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney Chelsea Fellinger with two counts of Child Molestation, in the 2nd degree, child less than 12 years of age, a class B felony, and one count of Sexual Abuse, in the 1st degree, a class B felony.  The Honorable Corey Moon issued a warrant for Mr. Campbell with no bond authorized.  Mr. Campbell remains incarcerated in the Lewis County Jail.

The investigation was primarily conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control with the Sheriff's Office assisting.
