On March 18, 2023, members of the Lewis County Sheriff's Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Jason A. Walker, age 44, of Maywood, Missouri  on two outstanding Lewis County warrants.  Mr. Walker was a fugitive who had previously fled from law enforcement on March 9, 2023.  At that time, a Lewis County deputy approached Mr. Walker while he was parked in a motor vehicle at the Lewis County  Courthouse.  Before he could speak with Mr. Walker, he fled in the vehicle.  A Missouri State Highway Patrol Sergeant  located Mr. Walker a short time later, but  Mr. Walker fled from the Sergeant and was not located again. 

On March 18, a law enforcement team went to Mr. Walker's residence to attempt to arrest him.  He attempted to run from law enforcement but was apprehended in his back yard.  Mr. Walker faces charges for  Resisting Arrest/Detention/Stop by fleeing, a class E felony; Operating a Vehicle in a Careless & Imprudent manner, a class B misdemeanor, Exceeding the Posted Speed Limit- (20-25 mph), a class B misdemeanor and Operate Vehicle on Highway Without Valid License, a class D misdemeanor.

Mr. Walker remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail as no bond was authorized on these charges.
