On August 3, 2022, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office arrested Jonathan G. Eckert, age 35, of Canton, Missouri for failure to register as a sex offender after conducting an investigation into his use of social media.  Mr. Eckert had failed to report an email and Facebook account.

Assistant Prosecutor Chelsea Fellinger made application for a felony warrant on August 4th,  and the Honorable Judge Corey Moon issued a warrant for one count of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, a class D felony.

Mr. Eckert remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail in lieu of a $5000 cash only bond.

Mr. Eckert also has pending charges in Schuyler County, Missouri for child molestation.  At the time of his arrest, he was on house arrest and required to wear a GPS ankle monitor.
