On October 2, 2021 the Lewis County Sheriff's Office received a check well being call for a female standing in the middle of State Hwy 156 wearing a Mardi-Gras mask. Upon arrival, deputies encountered Gera M. Hatfield, age 30, of rural Ewing, MO. She was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance and placed on a 24-hour hold.
As Miss Hatfield was being processed in the Clark County Jail, more contraband was found hidden on her person.
Hatfield was subsequently charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine, a class D felony. She remains lodged in the Clark County Jail on a no bond warrant.
