On July 28, 2021, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office placed Bryan E. Wurtzberger, age 53, of La Belle, Missouri under arrest stemming from a citizen contact in La Belle, Missouri.
While on routine patrol, Sergeant Devon Willis observed Mr. Wurtzberger operating a motor vehicle on Missouri Highway 6. and pull into a local business. Believing Mr. Wurtzberger did not have a valid license, Sergeant Willis spoke with Mr. Wurtzberger at the business in regards to his driver license status as it had previously been suspended or revoked. During his investigation, it was determined that Mr. Wurtzberger was operating the motor vehicle without a valid license and was intoxicated. Mr. Wurtzberger was also found in possession of methamphetamine. Mr. Wurtzberger was taken into custody and subsequently charged with one count of delivery of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, a class C felony, one count of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine , a class D felony and one count of tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution, a class E felony.
The arrest of Mr. Wurtzberger led to the issuance of a search warrant for a rural La Belle, Missouri residence. Further charges are pending as a result of the search warrant.
Mr. Wurtzberger remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail on a no bond warrant.
