On January 24, 2021, Lewis County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to a domestic in progress at a residence in La Belle, Missouri.  As a result of this incident, Christopher M. Davis, age 30, of La Belle, Missouri was arrested on one count of domestic assault - 2nd degree, a class D felony.

Deputies received two different 911 calls indicating there was a domestic disturbance in the 600 block of Main Street in La Belle.  Upon arrival deputies located a female victim who had fled from her residence to a neighbor seeking help.  The victim had sustained injuries to her neck area and she alleged Mr. Davis, her boyfriend, had grabbed her by the throat. 

After further investigation Mr. Davis was then taken into custody.

Mr. Davis remains lodged in jail in lieu of a $10,000 cash only bond. 

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
