On December 4, 2020, a deputy with the Lewis County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to signal and passing in a no passing zone with a restricted view. The deputy made contact with the driver, Rachel L. Raymer, age 30, and passenger, Adrian J. Raymer, age 31, both of La Belle, Missouri. Mrs. Raymer gave permission to the deputy to search the car and a controlled substance with drug paraphernalia was found in the vehicle. Both subjects were taken into custody.
While being booked into the Lewis County Jail, an alert corrections officer located more illegal items in Adrian Raymer's possession. The corrections officer located a syringe and capsules that Mr. Raymer had attempted to hide. Also, while being booked into the Clark County Jail, Rachel Raymer was found to be in possession of capsules containing heroin and fentanyl.
Rachel Raymer was formally charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, heroin, and one count of delivery or possession of a controlled substance at a county jail, both class D felonies. She remains lodged in the Clark County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 cash only bond.
