On August 1, 2020 a deputy with the Lewis County Sheriff's Office, while on patrol, observed a white male identified as Daniel L. White walking on Missouri Highway 81.  The deputy confirmed with Lewis County personnel that Daniel had active warrants in Lewis County.  The deputy made contact with Daniel and attempted to take Daniel into custody for the active warrant at which time Daniel resisted arrest.  An altercation ensued and Daniel fled on foot into a wooded area.  The Lewis County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Canton Police Department in a search for Daniel.  Daniel was not located at that time. 

Located in property abandoned on scene by Daniel was a loaded firearm.  Daniel is a convicted felon and is currently being supervised by the Missouri Department of Probation and Parole.  Daniel was released from the Missouri Department of Corrections in October, 2019 where he had served 120 day incarceration stemming from a previous felony tampering with a motor vehicle charge. 

Daniel is wanted in Lewis County for the class D Felony of failure to appear for Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine). Warrants are being sought for Daniel's arrest stemming from this incident.  Charges being sought consist of unlawful possession of a firearm, resisting arrest, possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine), and theft all of which are felony charges.
