Circuit Court Law Day Information

The following individuals appeared before the honorable Russell E. Steele for sentencing on February 6, 2020:

Daniel E Hartgrave, age 59, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa pled guilty to a class D felony of domestic assault in the second degree.  This was in relation to a January, 2018 investigation near Steffenville, Missouri.  Mr. Hartgrave admitted to causing serious physical injury to the female victim. 

Pursuant to his plea of guilty, Mr. Hartgrave was sentenced to five years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.  That sentence was suspended and he was placed on five years  of supervised probation.

Clayton A Wainwright, age 44, of La Belle, Missouri pled guilty to a class D felony of possession of a controlled substance in relation to an August, 2017 investigation in La Belle, Missouri.  Mr. Wainwright was in possession of methamphetamine

Pursuant to this plea agreement, Mr. Wainwright was sentenced to five years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.  This sentence was suspended and he was placed on five years of supervised probation.

The class D felony of possession of a firearm by a felon was dismissed.

Mr. Wainwright has previously been convicted of numerous felonies and has served a prior sentence in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
