Sheriff's Office asks that citizens be aware of a phone scam involving Medicare or Medicaid.  The scammer calls advising they can provide free knee braces or back braces.  They then ask for personal identifiers.  The scammer then bills Medicare or Medicaid.  The scammers then have braces delivered to the home.  Citizens are reminded to never give out personal information over the phone.  In general, government entities will conduct most business by mail.
