On February 2, 2016, members of the Lewis County Sheriff's Office arrested Desiree M. Chatfield, age 20, of Canton, Missouri for tampering with a witness in a felony prosecution. Chatfield is accused of tampering with a witness in a felony drug prosecution in December 2015. This is the fourth person arrested for witness tampering in the State of Missouri v. Lucas Wolf matter which is currently pending in the Lewis County Court System. Ms. Chatfield currently faces one count of tampering with a witness, a class C felony. She faces up to seven years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the NEMO Drug Task Force and the Canton Police Department in this investigation.
Chatfield remains in the Lewis County Jail in lieu of a $10,000.00 cash only bond.
