SHERIFF'S REPORT
It's been a busy week for the Sheriff's Office. The following arrests were made this past week:
Domestic Assault Arrest:
On May 16th, 2022, deputies responded to a 911 call from rural La Belle, Missouri for a domestic disturbance. The caller alleged that her husband had physically assaulted her. Upon further investigation, deputies arrested Douglas R. Geisendorfer, age 49, of La Belle for Domestic Assault.
On May 17th, 2022, formal charges were filed by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, Chelsea Fellinger. Mr. Geisendorfer was formally charged with one count of Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree, a class E felony.
Lewis County Judge, Cory Moon, issued a warrant for Mr. Geisendorfer with a $10,000 cash or surety bond.
Mr. Geisendorfer was released on May 19th after posting bond at the Lewis County Jail.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Reckless Burning:
On May 18th, 2022, members of the Sheriff's Office were called to a report of a burned-out vehicle located near a bridge on Olive Street in rural Maywood, Missouri. Deputies located a 2010 Chevrolet car that was completely burned.
After further investigation, deputies learned the vehicle owner, Danielle R. McDonald, age 29, of La Grange, Missouri had set her own vehicle on fire.
Ms. McDonald was issued a citation for recklessly burning, a class B misdemeanor. She was then released.
Robert's Garage removed the vehicle from the scene.

Stealing Arrest:
On May 19th, 2022, the Sheriff's Office received a call from a homeowner in rural Lewistown, Missouri reporting their Ford F-150 had just been stolen. The owner was able to stop the vehicle on Cactus Street.
Once on scene, deputies arrested Ethan T. McChristy, age 22, of Lewistown for stealing.
On May 20th, 2022 Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, Chelsea Fellinger, filed formal charges. Mr. McChristy was charged with one count of Stealing a Motor Vehicle, a class D felony and one count of Tampering with a Motor Vehicle, a class D felony.
The Honorable Cory R Moon issued a warrant for Mr. McChristy and bond was set at $10,000 cash only.
Mr. McChristy remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Drug Investigation Leads to Arrest
On May 17th, 2022 members of the Sheriff's Office, NEMO Drug Task Force, and Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Ronald L Breault and Laura M. Carlton for drug violations as part of an on-going narcotics investigation.
On May 18th, 2022, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, Chelsea Fellinger, filed formal charges and sought warrants for both suspects. Ronald L. Breault, age 55, of rural La Belle, was charged with one count of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, namely methamphetamine, a class C felony and one count of tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution, a class E felony.
Laura M. Carlton, age 45, of Quincy, Illinois was also charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance, namely methamphetamine, a class C felony and one count of tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution, a class E felony.
Lewis County Associate Judge, Cory Moon, issued warrants for both subjects and set bond at $10,000 cash or corporate surety.
Mr. Breault remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail while Ms. Carlton was released after posting bond from the Clark County Jail on May 19th.
This investigation continues.
