Law Enforcement Restitution Fund

 

Established by state law and county ordinance in 2004, the Lewis County Law Enforcement Restitution Fund provides funding to improve the operation of the Sheriff's Office and the Prosecutor's Office.  All monies come from individuals who have been through court proceedings for various misdemeanor and felony offenses.  A five member board oversees the fund and approves all expenditures.  Since it's inception this funding has provided 5 patrol vehicles, mobile data terminals, weapons, patrol equipment and assistant prosecutor services.
