The suspect has been apprehended and is in the custody of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He is being transported to the Lewis County Jail for processing.

Law enforcement has identified the suspect who has fled from law enforcement. The subject has been identified as Lashawn Dixon, age 38, of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The subject is a black male, 6 foot, 160 pounds, last seen wearing blue jeans and a gray t-shirt.
PRESS RELEASE
Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Lewis County Sheriff's Office are currently searching for a black male approximately 40 years of age wearing a gray t-shirt and blue jeans who ran from a motor vehicle crash on Highway 16 approximately 1 mile East of Lewistown, MO. The subject's name is Lashawn Dixon and he is believed to be from Minnesota. The subject was fleeing from the Missouri State Highway Patrol after a traffic stop in Clark County, MO. The subject was last seen running near the Lewis County Fairgrounds on Highway 16 but law enforcement has been unable to locate him. Law Enforcement does not have any information that the subject is violent but they are asking residents to lock their vehicles and homes for safety reasons and also asking citizens to be vigilant & contact local law enforcement immediately if they see anything suspicious.
