On April 3, 2017, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office arrested Preston S. Parton, age 18, of Columbia, Missouri on two counts of stealing a motor vehicle, both a class D felony. Mr. Parton is alleged to have stolen a truck and ATV on January 26, 2017 from a La Belle residence. the vehicle and ATV were recovered the same night. Mr. Parton was released after posting bond. The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Knox County Sheriff's Office.
