Narcotics Arrest

On  March 13, 2020, members of the Lewis County Sheriff's Office arrested Douglas K Howes, age 48, of Hannibal, Missouri for possession of a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine.  While on patrol in the Williamstown area, a deputy observed a vehicle without license plates on Highway E and began following the vehicle.  The driver attempted to evade the deputy by traveling onto a county road.  The deputy observed the passenger, later identified as Douglas Howes, throw something out the window.  After stopping the vehicle, the deputy located drug paraphernalia and a baggie containing methamphetamine along the gravel road.  Howes was transported to the Lewis County Jail. 

Howes is a convicted felon who has been to Missouri Department of Corrections for possession of a controlled substance, receiving stolen property, and manufacture of controlled substances.

Mr. Howes remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail on a no bond warrant.
