Narcotics/Child Endangerment Arrest

In the early morning hours of April 6, 2021, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence in La Belle, Missouri to investigate a report of illegal narcotics in the presence of a child.  During the investigation, a substance later identified as methamphetamine, was located in the residence.  Steven A Clay, age 45, of  La Belle, Missouri was placed under arrest and subsequently charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, a class D felony and one count of endangering the welfare of a child involving drugs - 1st degree, a class D felony. 

Mr. Clay remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 cash only bond.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
