Drug Arrest

On March 8, 2021, a Lewis County Sheriff's Office deputy was patrolling near La Grange, Missouri when he observed a vehicle fail to stop for a stop sign.  The deputy also observed the vehicle had expired registration and initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle in question.  The deputy encountered the driver, identified as Zachary A. Laffey, age 26, of Hannibal, Missouri.  As a result of the traffic stop a search of the vehicle was conducted at which time the deputy located a white crystalline substance consistent with methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia. 

Mr. Laffey was arrested on one count of possession of a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine, a class D felony.

Mr. Laffey remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 cash only bond.
