Drug Interdiction Leads to Arrest
On March 3, 2022, members of the Sheriff's Office conducted drug interdiction patrols in Lewis County. While patrolling in La Belle, they observed a silver Dodge Durango with a defective headlight and taillight. The vehicle stopped at the corner of State Highway 6 and N 5th Street and as the Sheriff's Office was executing a traffic stop, they observed what appeared to be a drug transaction. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Logan M Miller, age 21, of Knox City, Missouri on several charges. They include possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, a class D felony; delivery of a controlled substance to a person less than 17, a class B felony and possession of a weapon and a felony controlled substance, a class D felony.
Mr. Miller is alleged to have sold Xanax pills to a juvenile. He was also in possession of a .223 caliber AR rifle along with a semi-automatic handgun.
The juvenile was turned over to the juvenile authorities.
Mr. Miller remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail in lieu of a $25,000 cash only bond.
Assistant Prosecutor Chelsea Fellinger filed the charges and the Honorable Thomas Redington issued the warrant.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted with this investigation.
