Domestic Assault Arrest

On January 31, 2024, members of the Lewis County Sheriff's Office received a call regarding a domestic assault in progress and responded the Lewis County Nursing Home in rural Canton, Missouri.  Upon further investigation, it was determined to be an altercation between a husband and wife.  A  two year old child was also present during the altercation.

Cruze R. Fox, age 32, of Canton, Missouri was arrested for domestic assault and placed on a 24 hour hold. 

On January 31, Prosecuting Attorney Chelsea Fellinger filed formal charges including Domestic Assault-3rd Degree, a class E Felony;  Stealing - Physically Take, a class D Felony;   Domestic Assault - 4th Degree, a class A Misdemeanor and Endangering the Welfare of a Child - 2nd Degree, a class A Misdemeanor . The Honorable Corey Moon issued a warrant for these charges.

He remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail in lieu of $17,500.00 cash only bond.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Canton Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
