Incident Details:

            Arrested Individual: David L. Baker, age 44, Canton, Missouri

            Arrest Date: September 28, 2024

            Arrest Location: La Grange, Missouri

            Arrest Agency: Lewis County Sheriff's Office

            Charge: Domestic Assault

Incident Background:

            Date of Incident: September 27, 2024

            Location: State Highway C and State Highway BB, Ewing

            Time: Approximately 6:30 p.m.

            Details: On September 27, 2024, the Sheriff's Office received a report that David Baker had attempted to strike the victim's vehicle while the victim was driving on State Highway C with his own truck.  According to the victim, Baker drove his truck into the ditch while passing the victim, swerved all over the roadway, and tried run the victim off the roadway.  The victim and a witness provided statements to law enforcement.

On September 28, 2024, the Sheriff's Office located Mr. Baker in         La Grange and took him into custody for the alleged violations.

On September 28, 2024, Lewis County Prosecutor Chelsea Fellinger, filed a felony complaint alleging Mr. Baker committed the class E felony of domestic assault in the third degree, in that he attempted to cause physical injury to the victim by trying to run the vehicle off the road and attempting to hit the vehicle head on.  Baker was also charged with the class E felony of driving without a valid license, in that while operating the motor vehicle he did not have a valid license.  He has at least two prior convictions for driving without a valid license and is currently under the supervision of the Missouri Division of Probation and Parole.

On September 28, 2024, the Honorable Corey Moon, Lewis County Associate Judge, issued an arrest warrant for Mr. Baker. 

Baker remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail on no bond.
