Burglary Arrest
On February 16, 2020 the Lewis County Sheriff's Office arrested Steven A. Clay, age 44, of La Belle, Missouri on one count of burglary - 2nd degree, a class D felony.
Deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a possible order of protection violation in La Belle, Missouri involving Steven Clay. When deputies arrived at the protected residence, Mr. Clay was located and taken into custody. Upon investigation, it was found Mr. Clay had entered the residence unlawfully and subsequently was arrested for burglary.
Mr. Clay is currently under the supervision of the Missouri Department of Probation and Parole for previous felony convictions in the Lewis County Courts. Mr. Clay pled guilty on January 6, 2020 to property damage of the same residence where he was located on February 16, and received 180 days in the Lewis County Jail. That sentence was suspended and he was given supervised probation.
Mr. Clay remains in the Lewis County Jail on a no bond warrant pending a court appearance.
