On April 1, 2019, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office arrested Steven A. Clay, age 43, of La Grange, Missouri on one count of driving without a valid license, a class E felony. Clay was stopped for a minor traffic violation on Highway 16 between Canton and Monticello. Upon further investigation, the deputy discovered Mr. Clay had more than 20 prior driving violations.
Clay remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 cash only bond.
