Arrest

On July 25, 2020, Mr. Chanh Quang Nhu Bui, age 33, of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa was arrested on one count of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, a class D felony and one count of tampering - 1st degree, a class D felony. 

Deputies responded to a rural Maywood, Missouri address for a report of trespassing and attempted theft of motor fuel.  The unknown male fled the area before deputies could arrive.  Deputies located the subject, later identified as Mr. Bui, in Canton, Missouri .  During the investigation of the incident, Mr. Bui was found to be in possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia.  Mr. Bui was taken into custody by deputies at that time.

Further investigation found that Mr. Bui had operated a UTV and entered upon a motor vehicle without permission of the owner at the rural Maywood address.

Mr. Bui remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail in lieu of a $20,000 cash only bond.
